 NIFTY50 and SENSEX traded under high volatility today, with benchmark NIFTY50 index closing 5.8 points lower at 22,547 level, while SENSEX closed 147 points, or 0.20% higher at 74,602. More than 114 stocks hit their lowest level in 52 weeks on Tuesday, February 25, as the broader equity markets closed flat after recovering from day's low.

Benchmark indices ended off highs after the selloff extended in late trade, to end little changed on February 25 during a volatile session.

Nifty closed six points lower at 22,547.55 while BSE Mid and Smallcap indices fell 0.5 percent each. At close, Sensex was up 147.71 points or 0.20 percent at 74,602.12. After the fall, Nifty 50 has closed lower for a sixth session in a row.

GIFT Nifty (Down)

The GIFT Nifty is a trading lower, indicating a flat to negative start for the day. Nifty futures were trading at 22,595 at around 07:00 am IST.

Asian Equities (Up)

Asian equities traded in a tight range at the open after earnings from Nvidia Corp. failed to rally the stock in after-market hours and new tariff announcements from President Donald Trump caused confusion.

US Equities (Mixed)

The S&P 500 ended little changed on Wednesday ahead of quarterly results from Nvidia, whose positive outlook could set the tone for the artificial intelligence sector.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 188.04 points, or 0.43%, to 43,433.12, the S&P 500 gained 0.81 points, or 0.01%, at 5,956.06 and the Nasdaq Composite rose 48.88 points, or 0.26%, to 19,075.26.

US Bond Yield (Rises)

The yield on 10-year Treasuries gained 36 basis points to 4.27%, while yield on 2-year Treasuries rose 30 basis points to 4.08%.

Dollar Index (Up)

The dollar index rose marginally against the basket of major currencies. 

Asian currencies (Mixed)

Asian currencies were trading mostly lower against the US dollar in the early Thursday trade.

Crude (Up)

Oil prices edged up from two-month lows on Thursday after U.S. President Donald Trump announced a reversal of a license given to Chevron to operate in Venezuela, potentially tightening crude supply.
