Asia-Pacific markets were trading higher early morning Friday as investors inflation data from Japan, and producer price data from the South Korea. The Nikkei 225 and KOSPI were trading 0.75% and 0.02% higher as of 7:47 a.m.
US share indices ended on a mixed note Thursday as investors try to guess the impact of the tax-cut bill on high debt levels which got a nod from the US House of Representatives. The yield on the 30-year US treasury note fell from levels last seen in 2007, as reported by Bloomberg.
On Thursday, Dow Jones Industrial Average flat at 41,859.09, and S&P 500 fell 0.04% at 5,842.01. The Nasdaq Composite rose 0.28% at 18,925.73.
The GIFT Nifty was trading 0.16% or 39.50 points higher at 24,694.50 as of 6:51 a.m., which implied the benchmark Nifty 50 will likely open higher.
Investors may monitor Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd., ITC Ltd., Power Mech Projects Ltd., Grasim Industries Ltd. shares as these companies released their fourth quarter results on Thursday post market hours. Apart from these stocks, traders may keep an eye on Trent Ltd. and Bharat Electronics as they will be added to the benchmark BSE Sensex index.
The benchmark equity indices closed lower on Thursday after a day's respite amid volatility in the domestic stock markets.
The NSE Nifty 50 closed 203.75 points, or 0.82% lower at 24,609.7 and the BSE Sensex ended 644.44 points, or 0.79% lower at 80.951.99.

Hindustan Copper: The company is considering raising up to Rs 500 crore via bonds or unsecured NCDs on May 27.
UltraTech Cement: The company arm India Cements completes a de-bottlenecking initiative at Banswara Cement Works in Rajasthan. Debottlenecking is done to raise capacity by 0.3 million tonnes per year.
